Welcome to the New Zealand home of Italian film on DVD
Bundle of the 2005 Italian Film festival DVD set and 'Italy: Love It or Leave It?'
Last month we publicised the first ever Italian Film store sale! I am pleased to say the majority of the 2005 Italian Film festival DVD sets in stock were sold. The purchasers got a great bargain. But we still have a few left and I am keen to sell the last of these. Therefore this month we are having our first promotion bundle. Once these 2005 Italian Film festival DVD sets are sold there will be no more available. Forever.
This month's promotion is a bundle of the 2005 Italian Film festival DVD set and 'Italy: Love It or Leave It?' at $124.99 inc GST, a 31% reduction from the normal selling price, valid until the 31/3/15.
The 2005 set was the first festival DVD set released in New Zealand and in my opinion contains some of the best Italian films ever made. Top of the list is 'After Midnight (Dopo Mezzanotte)', one of my favourite films. A beautiful romance, situated within a stunning iconicTorino building; the building itself becoming one of the main characters in the film.
Whilst 'Italy: Love It or Leave It?' is a must see documentary on the challenges of living in Italy, particularly for the 20 - 40 year old age group. Luca and Gustav are two young Italians who over the past few years have witnessed the exodus of many of their friends to Berlin, London, Barcelona or New Zealand; creative, talented people who cannot see a future in their country.Gustav believes the time has come for them to go abroad too, while Luca wants to convince him that there are many good reasons to stay. Agreeing to give themselves six months to make their decision, they embark on a journey across their boot-shaped land in an old Fiat 500, the symbol of Italy’s economic miracle.
Also included on the 2005 set are 'The Consequences of Love (Le conseguenze dell'amore)', winner of 5 2005 David di Donatello awards. A Paolo Sorrentino masterpiece starring Toni Servillo. 'Good morning, Night (Buongiorno, notte)', itself a winner of 4 2004 awards, featuring Luigi Lo Cascio and Maya Sansa; a reenactment of the kidnapping of Aldo Moro. And of course the followup to 'Bread & Tulips' of 'Agatha and the Storm (Agata e la tempesta)' by Silvio Soldini, a NZ festival favourite.
There are 12 films for NZ$124.99 inc GST plus $5 courier costs.
